Half Marathon - UPDATE

So I ran the Half today! Did pretty well too - as far as I'm concerned. Finished in 2 hours and 26 minutes. I averaged an 11 minute mile. SWEET! I am pretty beat up though. Guess that week I missed training because of work could have helped after all. Oh well. I finished and I will live. It was a great run and I'm very proud to have done it! Was great to run with my friend M because she really pushed me. Especially at the end when I was super tired.

I did miss my friend C though. Sorry she couldn't run today because she was ill.

Now for a full marathon??

Fries Americain, please!

So my friend C and I stopped by Bar Americain last night for a drinky-poo and some snacks. I would just like to say - GREAT! Even despite the fact I have mixed feelings about Mr. Flay as a tv personality. I hadn't been in there since it was Judson Grill (is that right?). Anyway. I would like to go back for dinner, but being a vegetarian, there really wasn't a whole lot for me. The Fries Americain are DELISH and the Asparagus Chopped Salad was equally divine. They were also thoughtful enough to bring us a little bread basket with some yummy cornbread spears of some sort prior to our snackage. We sat at the bar where I had an expertly made dirty martini and a Duvel beer:

Finally, the bar staff service was great. I will definitely go back encore!

PS -

I went to Kitchenette yesterday after the big run with some friends and it is GREAT for brunch! The cheese grits are especially good. Very subtle. Good biscuits if you like the big giant dense variety. Oh yes, and they come with honey butter on the side. Good stuff.

10 MILES

I ran my first ten miles yesterday in Central Park!! I'm definitel on my way to being able to finish the 1/2 Marathon at the end of the month. SO exciting. especially since I was only expecting to do 9 miles. I'm really digging the running thing. I think I may have officially decided to train for a big marathon - an international one! Rekjavik? Amsterdam? Paris? I just don't know where the wind will take me . . .
